Ode To A Breakup

ODE TO A BREAKUP

Sometimes my life is like an old haunted house

full of demons and emptiness

with cracks on the walls and echoes of happiness

I've shadows on my face, wrinkles in my soul

Can't count the times I hit my head on this wall

through stormy waters this body would crawl

through pointing fingers and screaming voices

we were drifting apart in each of our choices

But thank you for the grace you brought into this world

thank you for kneeling and praying when I was so short of words

thank you for you heart so full of love

thank you for letting me fly with you up above

and thank you for the beauty I'm not capable of

How many times shall I make the same mistake

how many  miles before finding my place

at least I can say I was never fake

this fire of mine is burning our flimsy lace

But thank you for the grace you brought into this world

thank you for kneeling and praying when I was so short of words

thank you for you heart so full of love

thank you for letting me fly with you up above

and thank you for the beauty I'm not capable of

thank you for you heart so full of love

thank you for letting me fly with you up above

and thank you for the beauty I'm not capable of

..thank you for the beauty I'm not capable of.
