“Woman on the Moon” was recorded in Austin, TX, in the summer/fall of 2021. For the third time in a row Giulia teams up with the talented multi-instrumentalist Gabriel Rhodes (Willie Nelson, Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell and more) to co-produce her songs and bring them to life. The record was engineered and almost entirely performed by the two of them, with the exception of drum parts. Some odd instruments were used in these recordings: a wet towel in the bathroom sink, puppet legs against a wooden box, various guitars played with cello bow, Giulia’s naked thighs.

These 12 songs take the listener through a journey between separation and unity, sanity and madness, mistakes and redemption, through the masculine and feminine inside of us. A “Mad Man on the Moon,” disconnected from his own self, life and experience, explores conflicts and struggles, while a “Woman on the Moon” walks the “distance in between the stars and the sunrise” embraces and heals the wounds through connecting and finding “The World in her Heart.

Woman On The Moon is a collection of startlingly intimate and vulnerable songs. It feels like eavesdropping on someone else’s very personal conversation.
