Giulia (pronounced Julia) Millanta, is singer -songwriter from Austin, Texas via Florence, Italy. A creative and prolific artist, she has been touring nationally throughout the USA and internationally for the past 10 years and she is now releasing her 9th solo album.
She has shared the stage and collaborated with world famous artists like 10,000 Maniacs, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Charlie Sexton, Marc Ribot, Hunt Sales and more.
She has been called smart, pensive and cool, a female Tom Waits and a “deeply evocative singer with a dash of Piaf, a sprinkle of Lady Day, a pinch of Norah Jones and a teaspoon of Madeleine Peyroux.” (Mike Greenblatt)
Recorded at Crinale Lab studio in the hills of Tuscany with producer Don Antonio (also guitarist and producer for Alejandro Escovedo), “Only Luna Knows” is a dark, sensual and mysterious confession and Millanta’s first bilingual release.
“No matter where I am, which side of the pond I’m on, I lift my head and look at you”
Giulia whispers to Luna, the moon, like a close friend, a confidant and the witness of it all.
